Capkold Tumble Chill Bags

For many years Plasmech Packaging have been the specialist manufacturer of cook chill bags, also referred to as capcold and rotachill bags. The chilling process involves the bags being filled with hot ingredients, sealed with a clip then conveyed into a purpose built rotary tumble chiller. The chiller typically reduces the temperature of the contents to below 4°C to increase the shelf life of the product.

We have developed a unique blend of polymer which provides maximum flexibility, facilitating free movement of the contents, yet it is strong enough to cope with the strains and stresses encountered in the filling, chilling and storage process.

When compared to our standard product we have been able to deliver cost savings of up to 20%. Crucially our solution reduces cooling times for the ingredients within the bags. A number of our customers have been enjoying the benefits of this product for some time now.

Additionally, as a result of lightweighting, users will see a reduction in the amount of packaging waste. Increased pallet quantities will also allow more bags to be stored per pallet space.

Full production has now commenced on our new extrusion line. This will increase our capacity by 40% in the range of 200-600mm wide high strength films. Our new line was specified with particular regard to the production of polythene bags for the capkold/tumble chill market.

Plasmech Packaging is certificated to the BRCGS Packaging Materials and passed with a Grade AA at our last audit. You are therefore assured that built into the manufacturing process are the quality checks needed to ensure our product reaches you ON time, within specification.
