A textile services company increasingly found that customers required the garments laundered for them packed individually rather than in bulk. This required up to 5 operators at peak times and was beginning to impact on work in other areas of the plant.
Following a study we recommended the installation of a semi automatic packing machine at a cost of £5,000.00.

A professionally managed and expanding laundry company was using simple polythene centre fold sheet on its 'L' sealers to protect items cleaned, much as most laundries do today.
Following trials of the Plasmech Packaging specialist laundry film the following advantages were found:
Faster Packing Speeds - the film seals faster than normal film, the dwell time on the sealer could be reduced so production is now faster.
Better Garment Protection - By using the specialist laundry film from Plasmech Packaging Ltd. Seals were found to be stronger and more consistent, therefore issues with broken and damaged packages which could have resulted in garment contamination which could have jeopardised supply contracts with the previous film has been minimised.
Lower Packing Costs - It has been found that the cost per meter of the Plasmech Packaging Ltd. Film was less than the standard supplier therefore each garment was wrapped at a lower cost.

What is probably Europe's largest manufacturer of sandwiches had a requirement for a liner within a tray.
Following an inspection of the tray and establishing the purpose of the liner we were able recommend a more appropriately sized liner than that supplied by their current supplier.

In Light of increasing raw material costs through 2008 Plasmech carried out a
thorough audit of its use of polythene packaging.
We identified that two liners represented 70% of the polythene packaging spend.
Further investigation revealed an opportunity to resize these and to use our
high strength material - ‘Mech 2020’
We also identified and resolved an issue where polythene packaging was being
incorrectly used, causing unexpected out of stock issues and a latent hygiene
issue.
Following our recommendations and successful trials of the new packaging items
